Hmm, Strange... It works for me perfectly.

One thing I have noted about DNS323 is that each time it is powered up, we need to login as admin thru its HTTP interface, and in Device Settings, save the workgroup information. Perhaps this is a bug that is fixed in later firmware.

Nice analogy sir! :-)

My daughter wants everything advertised on TV, and just as you say, its out of her curiousity and not being affected by the "Peacock's Tail" syndrome. :-)

So - similarly, there's (likely) a kid in all of us... Keeping up our excitement & curiousity for devices & technology. ;-)

Within so much of hue & cry about GCOS, it's really tough to believe what you said. But @the same time if we really try to understand the Ecosystem for OS, especially with your examples, it really seems that it's not going to be so easy for Google. Google without doubt is master of one Universe.... but for them there already exist other Universe......
As you said, it will be extremely slow process & may take centuries to kill Windows..... Who knows rather than Google or someone else... Microsoft will kill its own Windows with something else.... Let's see...

Comment on EVM tampering? by nirav

Interesting! It does seem to be a logistically impossible task to tamper with the EVMs.

Thoughts:
- You can tamper only upto the max. no. of voters in every polling station;
- Which implies, you will have to ensure the total of all the votes of all the candidates do not exceed max. no. of voters in every polling station;
- Which further implies, you can only cast fake votes for the absent voters;
- But then the EC maintains a separate voter's list with the signature/thumb-impression. It can always be cross-verified with to check EVM tampering.
- And we also know that almost none of the polling stations had 100% voting recorded. (except the rare stations with very few voters, like 3 voters & such)

Unless the "EVM rigging" is something where the device is 'blanked' & then votes are cast for a single candidate, its really difficult.

So yes - as you say - either its at a large scale, or its not happening (except in theory)!

There can be a possibility, as demonstrated, that the EVMs can be rigged. But how far can they get with that? Losing parties can continue to create a hoopla, but logistically & technically it seems impossible.

Completely agree that if the EC involves the party/candidate representatives during the programming & tallying of votes, it can be more secure (securing the EC from the allegations!).

Nice one sir!
Thanks,

Nirav Doshi

Mozilla topple IE? Check this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Usage_share_of_web_browsers

IE has 3 times as many users as Mozilla. And besides, it is Mozilla which lost to IE, not the other way around! Mozilla descended from Netscape, which at a point of time had almost 100% market share. When Microsoft, which rules the computing platform, gave a browser as part of their distro, Netscape/Mozilla market was ruined.

Mozilla did gain back some market share later, but no where close to IE.
